2007 NBA Champion

With the second round of the NBA Playoffs nearly completed, the question must be asked, "Who will win it all?" The Dallas Mavericks entered the playoffs as the odds-on favorites to bring home the trophy, but....Golden State pulled the biggest playoff upset in recent memory by sending Mark Cuban and the Mavs home early. Golden State ran into a tough and well-coached Utah team that sent them to the golf course. Utah now awaits the winner of the San Antonio and Phoenix series that is tied at two. The Eastern Conference favorite, the Detroit Pistons, are up 3-2 in their series with the Bulls, while Cleveland leads New jersey 3-1. I see Utah and San Antonio matching up in the Western Conference Finals while Detroit and Cleveland battle it out in the Eastern Conference. San Antonio should have very little trouble getting rid of the Jazz, as the Spurs pose too many match-up probelms for Utah. Give me the Spurs in 5. Detroit and Cleveland looks to be an intriguing series as LeBron's Cavs took Detroit to seven games last post season. I still think Detroit is too talented for a young LeBron to single handedly beat. Look for Rip, Flip, and Sheed to their thing in 6. As for the NBA Finals, it will be a rematch of two years ago when San Antonio captured the title beating Detroit in 7. I look for history to repeat itself again with the exact same scenario playing out again, meaning the San Antonio Spurs winning the league crown three times in five years. I could be wrong.....but I seriously doubt it.
